Set amongst the luscious mangroves and calm lagoon waters, Sense, A Rosewood Spa, offers a tranquil retreat to enjoy a variety of spa and wellness services. The 12 treatment cabins and 8 island spa suites are nestled on their own private island along with a fitness facility and spa pool. A complete hydrotherapy experience is offered in both the male and female areas while a communal outdoor lounge area, complete with the tranquil sounds of a waterfall, provides the pre and post-treatment relaxation experience. A walk through the tropical jungle foliage, alongside the edge of the cenote, takes you to the individual treatment cabins of Sense, A Rosewood Spa.
Delivering treatments like the Mayakoba Herbal Cure and the Red Carpet Facial, there is a service for everyone to enjoy. The Mayakoba Herbal Cure, a natural, herbal nourishing experience starts with a full body exfoliation of Rose petal & Cranberry providing powerful antioxidants, followed by a Mayakoba signature herbal blend made out of Lemongrass, Lemon Balm, Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Spearmint, Alfalfa, Fennel and more to provide an anti-inflammatory, detoxifying, soothing and nourishing experience. This herbal cure blend can be completed with a Clarifying Detox Mask containing Yogurt and Sea Kelp Extract to brighten and tone the skin; or with a Hydration Therapy Mask with Silver Ear-Buttermilk-Aloe that delivers moisture, boosting skin´s elasticity and hydration. Plans for an organic herb garden on-site at Rosewood Mayakoba, are in place for later this year, delivering an even wider variety of fresh picked herbal extracts.
One of the highlights of the spa is the separate, individual treatment island exclusively designed for the Escape Together: Sun and Moon Couples Journey. An in-suite pick up and private boat journey through the mangrove lagoons starts the experience. The couple arrives at the private treatment area under the shade of a palapa, open to the ocean breeze. A Mayan Cacao scrub, rich in antioxidants and a herb-infused bath is followed by a Mayakoba Signature Island Massage. To complete this experience of togetherness, what better way than to enjoy specially prepared spa culinary amenity.
Sense spa focuses on bringing together the 5 senses throughout the journey while providing a ‘sense of place’ to the guest by utilizing indigenous natural ingredients such as chaya, aloe, lime, agave, local salts, honey and chocolate. These create spa experiences that draw from the local healing traditions of the area.
The spa also features a beauty salon offering manicures, pedicures, make-up and hair services. There is also a fitness facility with exercise classes and personalized training programs, and a relaxing outdoor pool.

The Rosewood Mayakobá is positioned in an exclusive resort enclave on the beautiful Riviera Maya coastline alongside the famous 18-hole course, El Camaleón. The 128 room luxury resort, which has been awarded the coveted AAA Five Diamond award, is set amid the tropical jungle and offers a choice of lagoon or sea views.
The newly renovated Sense Spa at Rosewood Mayakobá is situated on its own spa island amongst the tranquil, mangrove lined, lagoon waterways. The spa island boasts 8 spa suites, 12 spa treatment cabins and a newly constructed outdoor spa palapa on a mini island accessed either by boat or over a small footbridge. This secluded, private island palapa
provides the setting for the Mayakobá Signature Island Massage, a service that incorporates traditional Mayan chocolate or the “Escape Together: Sun & Moon Journey”. This starts at your suite where you will be picked up by boat for a private arrival at the spa. Following a full-body Mayan cacao scrub and wrap, rich in antioxidants and an herbal-infused body bath, the massage will leave you relaxed and refreshed before you return to your suite by boat while enjoying a specially prepared spa culinary experience.
The recently restored cenote (an open water pool that connects to the underground river system flowing through the Yucatan Peninsular), provides a perfect backdrop for a moonlit massage or morning Yoga session.
The hydrotherapy area features sauna, steam, experience shower, Jacuzzi and cold plunge to relax, refresh and prepare the muscles before any spa treatment.
