Botanique Hotel & Spa in Brazil enjoys stunning views in all directions of the mountains and valleys of Campos de Jordão, a couple of hours drive from the bustling city of São Paolo. A unique construction using stone, wood and glass, creates an open contemporary-rustic space, allowing light to flood through the central lobby.

The restaurant’s farm to fork concept blends the energy of the sun with flora, herbs and trees local to the area. The food is fresh, organic wherever possible, and prepared to perfection. Olive trees grown within the grounds of the hotel allow Botanique to produce, use and sell their own olive oil, the flavor of which is comparable to the best I have tasted in Italy.

The stylish and well appointed 6 guest suites in the main building all offer spectacular 180 degree views and echo the design of the lobby and restaurant with wood floors, black tile bathrooms and expansive windows extending the length of the suite. Eleven villas scattered around the grounds are also available with elaborate private gardens.

The spa and wellness facilities include a sauna, once again with a stunning view, a tropical rain steam-hammam, indoor isotonic pool, flotation room, hydrotherapy baths and a relaxation lounge. I recommend the Salt Flotation Therapy and Herb and Rose Petal Bath services.

Wellness is in abundance all around in this hidden gem of a hotel with a variety of activities on offer both inside and out, including yoga, fitness and personal training, tennis, mountain biking, horseback riding and my personal favorite, hiking (or running) through the mountain trails.
