Spa Experience: Eforea Spa, Hilton Barbados Resort

Eforea Spa at the Hilton Barbados Resort is located in Needham’s Point St Michael, Bridgetown, and sits between two white sandy beaches framed by bright tropical flowers and three outdoor swimming pools on the sprawling hotel property. The first Eforea Spa in the Caribbean, this wellness haven sits on part of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the 17th century Fort Charles in Barbados.

Spa services at Eforea Barbados include a range of facials, massages, body treatments, manicure, pedicures and waxing in addition to longer spa packages and mini treatment add-ons or ‘journey enhancements’, with one of the most popular treatments being their Quartz Sensational Sand Massage. The spa creates a cozy environment with a relaxation area, four treatment rooms, including one couples room and saunas separated for males and females in the changing area.

The Quartz Sensational Sand Massage provides the ultimate indulgence in relaxation with its unique heated ‘sand’ bed made entirely of alpha quartz crystals. Based on the ancient Greek concept of ‘psammotherapy’ which uses warm sand to alleviate muscular tension and pain and promote comfort, the 50-minute treatment includes a full body massage atop the warmed quartz-crystal sand to alleviate aches and pains and assist with realignment. The massage table is also electronically raised and lowered during the treatment to encourage lymphatic drainage.

Wellness activities also offered by the hotel include a fitness room with a range of cardiovascular machines and free weights, a walking track and a variety of water sport activities. The reception area includes an array of skincare products and spa accessories to continue your wellness experience at home. Closing a spa visit at Eforea Spa with a refreshing swim in the hotel infinity pool or a dip in the outdoor Jacuzzi is a perfect way to end the day with breathtaking views that overlook the calming blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.
