Rock Spa, Hard Rock Riviera Maya

Hard Rock resorts offer a unique concept to guests looking for an all inclusive resort experience with a difference. Music is, of course, the central theme around the resort bars, lounges and restaurants and the Rock Spa is no exception. Memorabilia from the likes of Madonna adorn the walls amidst art installations made of musical instruments including a hanging fountain styled from organ pipes.

The well attended hydrotherapy area comprising two different temperatures of sauna, a steam room, experience shower, Jacuzzi and cold plunge pools is thankfully a peaceful and tranquil environment along with the relaxation areas and waiting lounges, however the spa experiences themselves are choreographed and expressly created to combine massage movements with a playlist of rock classics in combination with the vibration from speakers set into the treatment bed and strategically placed around and over the guest.

I enjoyed the Wrap Remix signature spa journey including a rhythmical salt body polish, a detoxifying wrap followed by the Rhythm and Motion full body massage and facial pressure point stimulation. A shot of Rock Spa Detox Tea completes the experience, before retiring to the relaxation area once more. The experience was outstanding; and while I typically opt for classical music when given the choice in the treatment room, this well-choreographed and expertly performed treatment was a unique and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it.
