The stylish Rosas & Xocolate Boutique Hotel is situated on Paseo de Montejo in the heart of Merida city center. This 17-room iconic hotel has long been known for its colorful pink walls and international restaurant, popular with local clientele.
The spa at Rosas & Xocolate offers customized therapies, based aptly on their theme, incorporating roses, chocolate or both. Having tried both the Signature Rosas & Xocolate Experience and the Signature Xocolate Experience I can say that these are some of the most sensorial treatments I’ve enjoyed over the years. Providing a perfect ‘sense of place’ they touch on many of the physical senses with taste and smell incorporated heavily into the ritual.
Enjoy a rich chocolate-based sugar scrub prepared with spices and extracts in the treatment room at the start of the service. Following the exfoliation, a rich chocolate moisturizing mask that smells good enough to eat, is applied over the entire body. Both rose and chocolate scented massage oils are available for the final step of this relaxing experience. While these aromas don’t necessarily target muscle tension, they certainly have a profound effect on the nervous system providing a soothing and relaxing effect and calming the mind.
This boutique spa offers simple hydrotherapy in the form of a rooftop Jacuzzi, utilized within the signature treatments, and a rooftop wet treatment bed for wraps and exfoliations, both shaded from the heat of the Merida sun. If the Jacuzzi is incorporated into a treatment experience, it’s often paired with chocolate covered fruit and nuts, served with wine or champagne.
A range of branded spa products and personal care items, of course with rose and chocolate aromas, are available to continue the experience after your spa journey comes to end.
With four treatment rooms, of which two are suitable for couples, the spa at Rosas & Xocolate caters to guests staying in the hotel in addition to local clientele and visitors to the area.
The theme of roses and chocolate is continued in the renowned restaurant with an exquisite signature chocolate dessert not to be missed.
